The history of Jingpohu area is long with abundant historical culture, which can be traced back to primitive society. And the most famous heritage is Manchu ancient embroidery - Balhae Mohe Embroidery, which has been selected into the fourth protection list of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The skill of Mohe Embroidery started from Balhae Kingdom in Tang Dynasty (698-926 A.D.), and it is the “National Treasure” of Balhae Kingdom. At that time the handicraft and embroidery industry were developed. The Mohe Embroidery was colorful and grand. The embroidered women drew their ideas from the beautiful scenery of Jingpohu, and showed the northeast people’s rough and bold character completely.
