Carbonized Wood
After
the original forest had been heated and burnt by
a large amount of hot volcanic fragments such as volcanic ashes and scoria, its remains were buried under the ground, and then turned
into carbonized wood under hypoxic and high temperature
environment. Scientific analyses show that the carbonized wood here was originally
yezo spruce (Pice jezoensis) with a diameter of about 20 cm.
